February 2010

From celebrating National Surf and Turf Day on February 29, to thinking about the dreamy romance of garlic celebrated at the Del Ray Beach Garlic Festival in Florida, February 12 – 14, we hope that these events and culinary moments in 2010, presented by month and season, will inspire you.

For every issue, we'll have something fun, humorous via trivia or a cooking question in the calendar or events listing. Some of the event names we provide for brainstorming are indeed real and so creative, we promise it will get even more challenging and fun to figure out just where the funny and fun are!

And the first person to respond back to me each month with a correct response to the fun will receive a prize. That goes for this February email, too!

“Pork - no animal is more used for nourishment and none more indispensable in the kitchen; employed either fresh or salt, all is useful, even to its bristles and its blood; it is the superfluous riches of the farmer, and helps to pay the rent of the cottager.”
