November is the time to give thanks - and to honor charities CARITAS -  AUSTIN Winn Meat Company salutes all of the charities in our community who are helping those in need during tough economic times.  All year long, these organizations have been working to balance the need for innovation and maximizing budgets to meet growing numbers of requests for assistance from community members in need. We have been in awe of the great work that Caritas does in Austin to help the homeless and individuals and families in need.  We have had the privilege of helping each quarter on a Wednesday by providing some protein and culinary talent to serve the clients of Caritas.  We are grateful to our customers for their business and want to return the thanks by doing what we can to help the communities in which we do business. Among the other charities we help all year long are: Baylor Healthcare Police Department, Dallas. Koonce Family Fundraiser, James and his four year old daughter Katherine were severely burned in the Brennan’s Houston fire during hurricane Ike. Taste of the NFL, benefiting the NTFB. Empty Bowls, benefiting the NTFB. Operation Frontline, benefiting the NTFB. Operation Forever Free, supporting veterans from the war on terror. SA Yes Foundation, San Antonio, educational scholarships and school supply distribution to low income elementary schools. Victory Outreach International, Half Way House, Dallas, helping change the lives of men in need. Love For Children Inc., Dallas, helping children in need. Dallas County Juvenile Department Volunteer Dinner
