Winn Meat Company Hosts Destination Booth at TRA Southwest Foodservice Expo 2009 in Dallas
DALLAS (August 5, 2009) – Winn Meat Company hosted one of the destination booths at the Texas Restaurant Association Southwest Foodservice Expo in late June. Winn Meat Company, assisted by students from the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association Food Service Prep program, sampled some of the United States' finest proteins for chefs and culinary artists attending the Expo.
Greater Dallas Restaurant Association's Food Service Prep program provides high school culinary education for careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry. FS Prep students assisted the Winn Meat Company sales and leadership team at their destination booth with cooking and serving samples of fine proteins. Students at the college level from Art Institute of Dallas assisted the Winn Meat Company team with cooking at the protein stations.

According to Jamie Samford, Corporate Chef and Sales and Marketing Manager, Winn Meat Company, fine proteins are still an important item on menus in Texas. Value continues to be an important proposition from suppliers.
“As the restaurant business continues to grow and respond to the current economic climate, we are finding that chefs are still seeking high quality in protein," said Samford. “Our customers are finding cuts such as kulottes and tri tips very flavorful ingredients.”
